Reiki has to be practiced and Reiki has to be believed. Once this is achieved, everything becomes easy and simple. We then wonder how it is possible that we did not know this before.
WORKING WITH SYMBOLS
The initiation into the second level brings the knowledge about using three symbols, whose application possibilities are limited only by our own visualization abilities. At the same time, it is good to bear in mind that the essence of Reiki is always in releasing what one wants to achieve (confidence that what needs to happen,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], will happen).
In order to apply the symbols, it is not at all necessary to bear their significance or meaning content in mind. This will come gradually, with time, by thinking about Reiki, reading books on Reiki, talking with the teacher...
The correctness of this procedure can also be found in other areas of life. The example of this is one of the best pieces of advice that Ph.D. Vlado Ostovic gave to his students of Electrical Engineering. He said that it was not necessary to understand everything one learns. It would also do to learn some definitions by heart and think about them later, whenever one can. In time, one would gradually come to clearer and clearer insights and, eventually, understand what it is all about.
Reiki symbols have their own energy and it is good to use them intuitively. It is desirable that practitioners become aware of many possible ways of using the symbols, through practice. There are no good and bad ways of using them, as long as the intention is good. In time, all practitioners develop their own way of using the symbols.
TREATING WITH SYMBOLS
The treatments with the first three symbols can be conceived in advance and given with previously planned affirmations, but it is also possible for a Reiki practitioner to rely on intuition and to try to feel the necessary affirmation when giving a treatment. This is why a short meditation is recommended before the treatment, in order to achieve a calm, clear and relaxed state of mind.
Treatments should be given only if they are asked for. A healer must never fall into the missionary trap and try to become a ��general benefactor��, giving treatments as he pleases and thinks fit. Actually, we do not know what kind of life problems other persons may have to deal with (and in what ways).
Sending Reiki remotely to other people is mostly done in two cases, sending healing treatments and sending energy for a general strengthening of the organism.
In case of remote healing, the treatment receiver must not be imagined as sick and suffering; on the contrary, we should visualize him or her as being healthy and strong. Later, in a more advanced Reiki stage, the practitioner giving a remote treatment may imagine a complete healing happening to the receiver at that moment.
When sending energy to persons that are away, it is useful to draw (visualize) the first and the third symbol several times, and to focus completely on feeling the energy flow through one's palms. The hands being in the air, it is also good to move them a little bit occasionally �C this stimulates the energy transmission after a slight decrease in intensity, which happens with time.
FORMING A LIFE DIRECTION
Following the previously elaborated principles, and for the sake of further personal development, a Reiki practitioner should express his or her life direction, considering the lessons that have been repeating in his or her life and the way he or she has dealt with them. The most important lessons are regularly followed by outstandingly strong emotions.
Studying our lessons, we may come to interesting conclusions that are primarily related to the direction that we are following and possibly with the destination awaiting us.
Example: INFINITE PATIENCE
God is in all of us, therefore �C I am God.
God is infinitely patient with us,
therefore �C I must be infinitely patient,
both with others and with myself.
By reaching the state of infinite patience,
I reach the state of unconditional love.
I unconditionally love every person
by showing infinite patience
for their development level and tempo,
I give them all the time they need
to achieve what they want
and I understand that I am not responsible
for the fulfillment of their life mission.
IMPORTANT PRACTICAL ADVICES:
1. Practice Reiki every day.
2. Take trips to nature as often as you can.
3. Practice discipline. Keep your word.
4. Decide what your priorities in life are.
5. Accept your present situation as part of your life path.
6. Write down what you want to accomplish.
7. Create an action plan to make your wishes come true.
8. Show gratitude for your accomplishments every day.
9. Gather experiences and enjoy the process of it.
10. Develop your life philosophy. Be simple.
11. Be modest and keep the secret of your spirituality.
12. Take everything as a game.
