PostPosted: Fri 18:45, 25 Mar 2011    Post subject: 11 Questions for Fun Conversations

Kicking off a conversation can be tough, especially in social situations where people are more interested in fun conversations. It's even tougher if you do not know your conversation partners well or are relatively shy by nature. Usually, the best way to kick off a conversation is with a good question, and in that spirit, here are 11 fun conversation starter questions.
#1 - If you could have a day entirely to yourself, what would you do with it?
This is a great question to get your counterpart thinking and fantasizing about a perfect day, and will likely offer you the chance to reciprocate with your own perfect day.
#2 - What are some of the books that have had the most influence on you?
This conversation starter helps you get an idea of your counterpart's personality and gauge the depth of his or her intellectual rigor.
#3 - Where is the one place you want to travel to before you die?
This is another question that will get your counterpart working their imagination, and the conversation that usually follows is a great way to compare ideas on ideal vacation destinations.
#4 - Who are the three historical figures you would have over for a dinner party?
Though this is a standard conversation starter, it does help grease the wheels and get the verbal juices flowing between you two.
#5 - Do you prefer beer or wine, and why?
This is a great question for parties and gatherings, and offers a good opportunity to playful spare with your conversation partner if they prefer one and you prefer the other.
#6 - What are you planning for the holiday?
Obviously this question is best used as the holidays approach, but over the past couple of years,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], people prepare earlier and earlier for the holidays.
#7 - What are your plans for the weekend?
This is a simple conversation starter, and though it offers little deep insight into your counterpart, it does help kick things off.
#8 - What are some of your favorite movies?
This kind of conversation starter is good in that it helps you learn more about your counterpart.
#9 - What's on your iPod right now?
This is usually a better question than "what kind of music do you like?" because most people respond to the latter with "everything".
#10 - What was the last concert you went to?
This is also a great music question that helps you get a sense of the other person's tastes.
#11 - Which do you like better, seeing the sun rise, or the sun set?
This is one of those questions that will make your conversation partner think, but that will also keep things light during the conversation.
