PostPosted: Fri 13:33, 25 Mar 2011    Post subject: Is Your Online Presence a Business Asset

Developing a strong online presence is a recommended if you have long range plans of marketing on the internet. The reason for this is simply; the more recognizable you are the greater your marketing effectiveness will be, make sense? Now establishing a strong web presence will only work in your favor provided your online reputation is a positive one.
Here are 4 things you must do to establish an online reputation that will be an asset to your business and help increase your marketing effectiveness when working online.
Exposure
Nothing happens until people first know you or your business exist, therefore you need to gain and then maintain exposure. There are several ways to do this, and the choices are up to you and your skill sets and resources, however they will not be covered here today. Suffice is to say your first step towards building a solid online reputation is by getting out in 'front' of people!
Credibility
Since, in the beginning anyway, people do not know anything about you, your aim is to make a great 'first' impression. The best way to do this is to offer them something useful, and preferably free, to make it clear you want to be helpful. The key here is to be sure whatever it is you are offering is in fact useful. Information is normally the most common 'item' people use to help build their credibility online. With that said be sure what you are supplying is, in the very least, accurate. Accuracy is crucial!
Trust
Give more than you take and your intentions will be regarded more favorably online. The more you supply people something useful, with no strings attached, the more they will grow to trust you. You are now forging a relationship with them, in a manner of speaking, and they are getting more comfortable with you. This is transitioning into a feeling of trust,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and it is this feeling that will help boost your marketing effectiveness.
Dependability
Your 'campaign' of trust and reputation building is now in full bloom and needs to be maintained to help keep the web presence and positive reputation you have developed. At this point the intensity of your campaign need not be as great as when you first started, but you will want to periodically reinforce the reputation you have carefully crafted.
Having a strong online presence is a must for anybody looking for long term success when marketing on the internet. With a recognizable web presence this will increase your marketing effectiveness but this can only be achieved if your online reputation is a positive one. The 4 steps discussed above are necessary in helping you establish a reputation that would be an asset to your business efforts. You can not expect success in any aspect of your life if you have a questionable reputation that precedes you!
